The heart of our company is Psalm 139. It is from which our name stems. When God placed the burden in me for the human trafficking victims, He also placed this passage in my heart. It is His message to them – a message of His intimate unbroken love, and also His promise for a beautiful future for them. It also applies to all of us.
If I may, I would like to share with you what was revealed to me from Psalm 139.
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
1 You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
God never stops paying attention to you and me, not event a blink. We are His precious loved ones. He knows you and me even deeper and more intimate than we will ever know ourselves. It is a realization that is utterly wonderful – that the God who created the universe cares for us even more than this universe. He created this universe for us. And His desire is to bless you and me.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
For God created each of us, intimately as we were formed in our mother's womb. He created us wonderfully complex, with awe-inspiring details in every part of our bodies. He saw us, body and spirit, even before we were born. We are so precious to Him. He made great plans for each of our lives and wrote them in His book, even as we were knitted together in the womb. Good plans that He hopes will be fulfilled as we live our lives and make our choices. Each of us was created with a unique purpose. God is always thinking about each of us. They are innumerable like the grains of sands on the beach. After we were born, He stays with us.
19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,
and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
God, if only You can just wipe out all the bad people in this world (but I know You are waiting for them to respond to Your love, too!) People who have caused only sufferings to many. They did only evil to others and disrespect God. Many of us have been hurt. Maybe even you. Some even suffered things that are hard to imagine — how could some human beings do such cruel things to fellow humans. For those who have been trafficked and enslaved, their lives have been robbed by traffickers, pimps, brothel owners, and mafia gangs. God really hates their deeds, as they were blinded by evil.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Continue to prod our hearts and thoughts, God. If there are things that do not agree with You and Your wonderful plans for us, please let us know. For the pain of our past would creep in from time to time, giving us feeling of hopelessness and fear of the future. But when we keep our minds and hearts in check with God, and live in a relationship with Him, He is able to take those darkness away. Because He is the one who created us, the one who knows us intimately even more than we do. For a lot of us, the evil in this world had robbed us empty. We've been burnt badly, and the story of our lives had become an unending nightmares. If you're reading this, please know that, for sure, God of light and unconditional love is able to turn ashes into beauty. He can turn your life story back into the wonderful one that He had planned for you. If you let Him.
